Loving

Some of my current loves. We have a party to attend in NYC (Sept.) and I'm thinking a black cocktail dress-darn picture wont upload- matched with these or red pumps:

then I'm wearing now Essie Topless & Barefoot, and yes I change the place that I was going to.

Then this beauty. I don't care what anyone says, Apple is the BEST ever and this new Imac ROCKS!!!! I no longer have to wait forevaaaaaaaaaaa to load things. If I could marry it I would :)

and finally I got this, a Shashi bracelet from Shopbop

Seems that friendship bracelets are all the rage, I actually did a smaller version of this one from the AMAZING blog "Honestly WTF"

Here is theirs (they have a link where you can get the bracelet)

And here is my tiny one, I just wanted to practice and this gold bracelet is all I had, I'm going to try to find a medium size one and try it again...

So what are you up to?

Loving...because I can hate way too many things

Yeas, I'm bitchy and cranky sometimes. Today my oldest said I was moody because while I was on the phone making a phone call he wanted to show me this gross video of guys making a chicken, inside a turkey, with like 8 other types of meat, plus bacon, inside a pork...covered in bacon. GROSS! Obviously my and his priorities are a little different...but I did watch it afterwards 'cause how else is a mother going to bond with an 18 yr old if not with gross youtube videos?

Anyway... (said in my fake Ellen Degeneres voice)

Here is a small list of things that make me so UBBER happy right now, in no particular order {and nothing supper life changing, except that I made the list and that should be enough to brighten anyone's day...just saying}:

  • Finding a great shirt, that fits me perfectly and came out to $2 on sale!
  • Having a way to pay for things without credit cards ( I WUW YOU QVC)
  • on that note, a brand spanking new carpet steam cleaner that we can afford!
  • My husband taking the kiddo out for 2 hours so I can do my cleaning in peace and with LOUD music.
  • Clean Laundry, love doing it, love the smell, I'm.a.freak.
  • Starting to get the hang of coupons thanks to Passions for Savings
  • Having a printer that works
  • Meaghan Smith's voice
  • Listening to VH1's One hit wonders of the 90's
  • The Bangles "Manic Monday" enough said.
  • The Kiddo asking for help to get off his high chair, then running around screaming "I'm free, I'm free". He is soooooo my kid.
  • Fresh Strawberries
  • Free printables :)
  • summer breeze
  • planning a weekend with family
  • Lemonade!
awww, that's it for now...I leave you with this lovely tune

what's that smell?

That would be MOI and the fact that I was soooo freaking lucky to have a Hubs that understand that being a girl is complicated. I asked the hubs this past weekend if we could go to a Lush store in NYC and so we did!

I got only a few things and only because they where on sale but WOW that stuff smells divine. Here's what I got:

Top left: Honey I bathe the kids soap~ amazing Honey smell
Top right: Demon in the dark ~Fresh, minty and mysterious~ got this for the hubs
bottom left: Therapy bar, which is pure cocoa and Shea butter...this is for the pregger Sister
Bottom right: Soft Coeur~ chocolate and delish...you just melt between yous palms for a bit and applies like a lotion!
Love them, and there was so much more I love but I was good and stayed on budget. There are in a drawer in my room and I swear as soon as you come close you can smell these. I wanted to finish my Fortune cookie soaps before I use these but I couldn't wait so I tried Honey I bathe the kids...A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!

Besides that their products are all natural and most of them vegan {if that's your thing} I also have to give props to the ladies there because they where very friendly, and made me feel welcome and where very eager to show me the products and answer questions. Sales pitch? you betcha, but it works. No one wants to shop where they feel like a 12 yr old in a China cabinet.

they even gave me a hand massage... what better way to feel pampered?

Oh yes, with this:

This is the Tarte Jewelry Box Limited Edition for Sephora

It has 32 eye shadows (16 matte and 16 shimmery) 8 lip glosses, highlighter and contour bronzer for the cheeks and 5 eye pencils. Perfect just to carry one thing instead of different items. The Hubs was bad and broke our no gifts for us policy and got me this for Christmas. He wuws me :)

I love that the eye shadows are full size and very pigmented. I use this on me and my SIL for New Years. I think is my new fav makeup palette! So I got spoiled and I loved every bit of it.
Now let me go smell my soaps again so my kid can look at me funny and have something else to tell his future therapist.

10 things I'm loving

There is so much that you learn and appreciated once you star focusing on you and your life instead of worrying about work and meeting deadlines. On this beautiful day, I do not miss working at all. Actually financial reasons why I will go back to the rat race. UGH.

These are a few things I'm loving lately (in no particular order):

10. Aiden has learn to give me over exaggerated kisses making MUAAAAA noises and wetting lips with tons of saliva...but I still love it.

9. all four of us dancing in the kitchen doing the Yo Gabba Gabba "wiggle, wiggle...hold still" moves

8. I had my very first Heath bar! why no one told me about this piece of heaven before?

7. Making new dishes like Chicken roll and old traditional ones (like this Sweet Plantain dish from the homeland)

6. and while we're at it my Tassimo Coffee maker (above)- fresh coffee all the time? Yes, thank you!

5.giving Aiden Popsicles and laughing at how much he enjoys them (even though he stoled mine-that's why he has 2)

4. soaps from Fortune Cookie Soaps, they are so cute and smell fantastic! ( I'm using Boogeyman)3. China Glaze Holiday Nail polishes for a fraction of the cost (thanks 8ty8.com) loving Naughty and nice (dark purple) and Little drummer Boy (intense blue). I believe there are 12 colors total.

2. Great Customer Service @ Zappos! after getting my Hunter's boots and the welly socks for my Bday I realized the cream wellies made me look like all I needed was a red jacket to be working for Santa...not the look I was going for.

When I called them for an exchange they overnighted my charcoal one's even before I sent the cream one's!!! and you have one year to make returns, THEY ROCK!

AND
1. conversations like this with Alain (oldest):
driving and listening to "Clocks" by Coldplay

me: when I hear this song it makes me day dream that I'm in a huge field, riding a horse,
galloping...

A: whyyyyy?
me: I don't know, I have a wild imagination.

A: you are weird
me: I'll take that as a compliment

:)
