FMM- Tech questions

SO I have not been able to post much, the apartment hunting is killing us. We had something already secure and ready to move last week, but of course the horrible people actually backed out and came up with an excuse to get us to see other places...so we still have no home and I am going NUTS here.
C'mom NY, you know I was not crazy about you, work with us here!!!!

Since there is not much to report I give you this weeks FMM

If you’ve taken part in FMM then you know the rules. If you’re new, please take a moment to answer this week’s question on your own blog then add your link in the comments section here at: www.alltheweigh.com so we can all see your FMM questions and answers. Tech Questions

1. PC or Mac?  MAC all the way. Sorry but the only way I think people still love other products is because you haven't tried MAC. I even converted the HUBS.

2. When did you get your first computer? When I move  here in the late 90's

3. Do you use cable, DSL or something else?  NOTHING. I have no home. But we use to have DSL

4. When choosing a laptop, do you think it’s more important to choose the fastest one, or the lightest one?  I do not care for laptops, my son has one and I have no clue what he choose.

5. What kind of cell phone do you own? Do you like it?I don't own a cell phone. Shocker, I know. But since we live in the city now,  I'm thinking of getting an iphone of course.

6. How do you carry your laptop when you travel? do not own one, my son carries his in his backpack (paded one)

7. How many e-mails do you send on an average day? not many. I usually talk thru FB unless is buisness stuff.

8. Do you ever blog using your iPad or similar tablet? no...

9. What do you use more often – a desktop or a laptop? Desktop. I was so in love with our i-mac :) but because of our current living problem I use the laptop late at night.

10. As a blogger, are there other gadgets that you need to get the job done? If so, what are they?  our camera, which is lost now...and I plan to replace soon...with a better Nikon (another company I adore)

FMM-Inapropiate questions and life

So we are down for the countdown on the moving, but to be honest is frustrating to do all this waiting. UGH, people are so unreliable when it comes to real state issues. It feels like we have been waiting for forever. I also been looking for jobs, so hopefully something good will come my way. Thankfully doing some family activities can always cheer me up.

The Hubs taking a monent while walking at Riverside Park.

Me and my Bubba, and yes we bring the stroller because 30 something blocks is too much for him to walk.
(yeah, I'm looking at you lady at the store who told me :he should walk" He does, you idiot.)

Me and my BIL, who is a punk and was trying to choke me for the picture.

And as always I'm using this week's FMM as a way for me not to whine about how tedious this all is.

If you’ve taken part in FMM then you know the rules. If you’re new, please take a moment to answer this week’s question on your own blog then add your link in the comments section here at: www.alltheweigh.com so we can all see your FMM questions and answers. Inappropriate Questions

1. Will you vote in the upcoming presidential election?  Nope. I'm an Alien. but the Hubs will!

2. Do you say curse words? Yes, but my thing now is using "oh ma' goodness" with a southern accent that my youngest and his cousin have adopted. Not so charming when little boys go "all that" hahaha

3. Have you ever kissed a stranger? Yes, I have... a long, long time ago :)

4. If you could choose to meet only one fellow blogger in person right now who would you choose? Oh gosh I would love to meet ALL of you, but if I can meet Kandee Johnson  (Kandeej.com and Kandeeeland.com) and Miss Yvonne at Yo Mama's Blog   because she is mega funny.

5. What is the most inappropriate pick-up line that anyone has ever used on you?  oh so many. But probably the one while I was pregnant with the little none. A guy that worked as a contractor for my former employer was walking beside me going in the building and say to me that I look so beautiful and glowy while pregnant he wished he could make me another baby. He said something to the effect of "doing me" but after he saw the face I gave him Im sure his penis crawl back inside him. Don't worry, I smiled with the coldest face I could muster and told him "now I know you just didn't say that to the person who can AND WILL get you fired"

6. Do you sing in the shower?  Madona got nothing on me baby! I also tend to sign a lot while cleaning.

7. How often do you get drunk?  I will be 37 this year and I have never been drunk. I am waaaayyy to Hyper to get drunk.

8. Have you ever been fired from a job?  Fired, fired? uhm....not sure. Does layoff counts? then yes. Although afterwards the jerks did not want to give me unemployment but I fought and won. Perks of being detail oriented is that I keep all my records.

9. Were you popular in high school?  I wasn't unpopular. I had great friends, some who are still in contact with me. I was never alone or had a problem making new friends from all groups.

10. Who is your current celebrity crush?same old Keanu reeves, Kevin James, Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson, Gerard Butler, Sean Connery. I have a thing for manly men.

I gots my heerrr did

-let me apologize for the gettho headline, but that's the way I felt in that salon.

I have been wanting to get my hair done since I dont have any of my supplies here to do my hair, and being that I have some gray hair this is a no, no condition for me. Plus I did not want to have to cut my hair again like I did the last time. I did, bangs and all. It was not terrible but sometimes you got to remind yourself you are worth the splurge.

I happen to know someone who works in a Salon here in New york,so I figure I give them a shot.
The first thing that bother me was that they did not have a clue what the ombre look was. If you don't know is ok, but I expected a hair place to know...here it is:

Above is the Red Ombre look, is less maintenance than doing highlights or things of the sorts, plus my hair is super long and I figure since people try so hard to get long hair, doing wigs and all, I wouldn't cut it so short, just give it some shape.

Error #2: they did not use a cape on me. Not only did my arm, shirt and fingers get stained but I got wet too, very unconfortable. I have never seen a salon that did not provide capes. Even cheapos as Super cuts do.

Error #3: they did notdo the hair color properly. My hair is supposed to be lighter in the bottom but is not...the difference between the colors is not noticible and I told her so...still she clain it was. FINE then, do whatever woman.

Error #4: When cutting my hair she barely touch it and I keep telling her to cut more since it was MEGA long...I had to force her to do it, and then she forgot to cut my bangs, which I had to remind her of. (which by the way then she told me they where uneven and long. No shit Sherlock, that's why I told you to cut it). She also kept telling me to get layers which I told her I did not want like 3 times.

Error #5 They did rollers which is not horrible but I don't need them. I have fine straight hair but whatever. Aparently it's a policy they have so when people with very coarse hair dont ask for blown hair. Anyways they where frying my brain with so much heat.

Error #6 When I ask the girl to get the rollers out in a curl instead of getting my hair straight she said sure, then proceeded to take them out and blow my hair straight...what the heck? I told her AGAIN to please make sure I had some waves. She said yes, but did whatever she wanted, including parting my hair in the middle. UFF. Anyways...this is the look (sorry for the crappy pis-I still have no new camera so I took it with an itouch)

The curl you see is from me redoing my hair the day after, and as you can see I do have some curl.
I thought this was supposed to be relaxing. It was not. Ninety dollars later I felt used. My hair and the color is fine, is not bad but is not what I asked for. But they are not going to see me again so they lost more since they lost a client and I would not recomend them.

Have you had any issues in the salon?
Tell me.

Friend Makin' Mondays-personal

This week we decided to relax from the apartment search and relax with family. We went to see some of the people that came back fromvacation (almost the entire hubs family-all 53 first cousins- went on vacation to the homeland and they are finally coming back) and Sunday we spent it in NJ celebrating a birthday and taking the kiddo to play with his cousins.

Now today I'm just so nervous about an apartment. So let me focus on this week's FMM instead:

If you’ve taken part in FMM then you know the rules. A Little More Personal

1. Are you a morning person?  No. All the coffee in Colombia wont make a morning person. I have trouble going to sleep therefore nights are looooong for me.

2. Are you an introvert or an extrovert?  I'm a clown :)

3. Are you addicted to anything? If so, what? Caffeine. I love my coffee and my soda's way too much

5. What is your position on politics?I am very opinionated but I hate talking politics. As an immigrant, I have different views from some more traditional Americans.

6. Are you religious? I hate saying that I am or that I am not. I do believe in God and have faith in HIM and HIM alone.

7. Would you prefer backpacking or a luxury hotel? Both, but probably would enjoy getting pampered these days. I desperately need it.

8. Do you have/want pets? I did and I miss my cat so much. At one point I lived in a home with a dog, a cat, a red ear slider turtle, a red bellied parrot and an Umbrella cockatoo.

9. Are you a sports fan?  No. But I do watch some of them with the Hubs and I enjoy Boxing tremendosly.

13. Should a man open doors for a woman? ALWAYS

14. Which season is your favorite?  Fall. love the changes since back home we dont have that.

15. Would you rather eat less or workout more?I want to become one that workout more.

16. What’s your idea of romance?having your guy know what you are thinking or want even when you said nothing at all. The guy who holds my hand without even knowing it because is so natural.

17. How often do you do things that are outside of your comfort zone? almost always. I believe in taking chances.

18. Christmas or Halloween? Halloween all the way

19. Would you rather live in the country or the city?  Country since I live in the city now and crave more space. But no so country that I have to drive for miles to find a store (I must be near a Sephora at all times)

20. Share your life philosophy.  To help others whenever you can. I believe that being good will always pay off. To laugh as much as I can no matter my situation because life is always a blessing. To do what you want because people are always going to have something to complain about.

Now it’s your turn to answer this week’s questions! Don’t forget to come back and link up in the comments! Happy Monday, Friends!

The 4-1-1

I spent the afternoon doing two things: cleaning and arraging my nail polish collection. It was the one thing of my former makeup stash that was not stolen. And man, do i have too many. I dont think I can fit all my girly stuff in an NYC apartment.

The other thing was walking in the rain.

I just put my Hunters on, no umbrella, grab my i-pod an tune into Coldplay. I fell much better. There are so many things going around me, people sick, problems. lack of money, lack of space, etc. that I just wanted to tune all that for a bit. By the way not all this is happening to me/us.
