The lamp, the toilet and the cleaning lady

I love to read. I always had. I remember in my younger years sitting in the rocking chair on the balcony, looking out to the street immersing myself in a good old book. Then I remember me crying because someone had interrupted me to do some ordinary and mundane task the required me to step away from "The Lady of the Camellias"...that Alexander Dumas knew how to write a book or two.

I always had time to read. I took books with me, read in bed, maybe at lunch time.

When I has getting ready to have the little guy I said to my Sister that I couldn't wait to be home so I could relax and read. She laughed. Being a recent mother herself she said I was not going to have any time. Well, she was right. I guess I've forgotten how much time consuming a baby could be. At the time I was reading "Four Blind Mice" by James Patterson...the kid is now 16 months and I have not finish the book. You would think that I could read when he naps or watches TV but I always always find something to do, like laundry, closet organizing, cooking, etc.

In comes the toilet.

As any mother will know, bathroom time is precious, is golden, and sometimes even a miracle. I've been knows to be washing and blow drying my hair at 11:00pm for lack of time. Lately I had a moment of Serendipity~ I've discover that my bathroom time could also be my reading time! Turns out that I could leave the kid with the hubs to go take a shower; bring a book with me and sit in the bathroom for 20 minutes of uninterrupted reading time before I jump in the shower. Pure Bliss.

Yipeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
It does not happen everyday, but now I know now where I can find extra time for me: in the throne! :)

And now that I'm in the subject of toilets I can talk about the "cleaning lady".

I have said previously that the smell of AJAX and Clorox is intoxicating to me (not like: the fumes are killing.me.intoxicating, but like ahhhhhh, that's smells clean type of deal). I like a clean organized home. I like coming home and smelling a clean scent. So I was more than thrilled when one of my favorite blogs had a giveaway of cleaning products. It was sponsored by another blogger that sells these Shaklee "environmentally-friendly" cleaning products and we where to contact her if we won- 10 winners to be exact. Well I was one of the "lucky ones". So I email said lady - a very popular blogger BTW- and asked her what I need it to do to received my prize.

And nothing happen. No reply at all. So I posted a comment on her blog. Nothing again. Email her one more time. Nothing. Now, she keeps posting on he blog so I know she MUST read these messages at some point. After my 3rd email I felt like I was begging for a cleaning product, and who wants to feel that way? I do want to try the product so I may just buy it from the web, but NEVER from her. She underestimate the power of word of mouth. I could give praises to this product and recommend this to friends and family, but guess who is not going to be recommend or gain any sales from my part?
I was actually thinking of posting a link to her blog to see if she has any ovaries to respond to me(not the lady with the giveaway- she is a doll) but I figure is always best to take the high road. But lady...you SUCK.BIG.TIME. That's just bad manners. Oh, and now I don't even want it. She can shove it. Plus I would have promoted that sucker up like no body's business. Her loss, really.

And now, going my usually style {backwards} I'm on the hunt for some lamps for the bedroom. I am redoing our room sine my bed and comforter set is going to the older kid's room. I have search high and low looking for something affordable. The GW has not delivered, and even though I have found some nice choices at HomeGoods and Target I'm still not willing to spend $50+ on each lamp. Remember, I still need to get a new comforter set too. Then the Sis sent me this picture:

New Lamps for $9.99 @ Ollies? Yes, thank you. I may paint them...not sure yet. But I like the price. I'm going with a white, green and blue scheme so the silver will also work. Now on the hunt for drum shades!

August Favorites

Geez, I'll be surprise if anyone is still paying attention after my last few post.
What a drab. Debbie Downer. UGH.

Seriously, when did I turn into my mom-ster and just complain, complain and complain?

Ok, so maybe I had another BIG (enormous, Mega) complain about my BIL staying with us, but don't you worry...I torture my oldest to a game of "Mommy-is-turning-psycho-and-you-have-to-listen-to-me-complain-game. At the end I felt much better. He, on the other hand, may or may not have been in a corner in a fetal position saying "make her stop, make her stop"

;)

But today is a great day, is a day in which I will show you my latest obsessions (like I need anymore). Just because I'm a mommy doesn't mean that I don't appreciated good makeup and looking stylish. Yeah, I say this while my 4 inch heels are driving me nuts, but I look hot in them damm it, so I MUST wear them.

First of all this little beauty is a savior, I've tried DHC Velvet Skin primer (received in a catalog as a sample)

and its magnificent but I'm not ready to pay shipping for beauty products. So I tried this one: L'Oreal Studio Magic Perfecting base ($10 @ Target, but someone says is $12.99). I love it. I use it after my Moisturizer and it makes my make up go on smooth, stay longer and have a nice finish. I guess you could also use this as an eye primer but I use UD Primer potion.

Then another product that I bought MONTHS ago (with a coupon, at Walmart) was the Aveeno Active Naturals Positively Ageless Complete Anti-Aging System (I got tired just typing that!)

It comes with a face wash, an eye cream, Daily Moisturizer w/SPF and a night cream. The only thing I ran out of is the Daily Moisturizer. These don't have a heavy scent and have actually improve the condition of my skin. I believe the entire kit was $30 but go to their website and they usually have a coupon.

Another great moisturizer is the Clinique Moisture Surge. I LOVE THIS STUFF, I WANT TO MARRY IT. I got it when the Class Action Cosmetic Cases Settlement of 2008– Consumers Got One Free Product. Or if you are sneaky like me you got maybe 3...I figure after a decade buying Clinique's products full price I deserved it. I no longer buy Clinique due to cost but if you can, this stuff will make your face feel amazing. I personally only used it at night since it does not have SPF.

I also bought back in the spring this eye shadow Palette from NYX Runway collection, there are a few different colors (I saw several people comparing it to the Kan Von D from Sephora, but I can't say) It works really well and it has really good color payoff. I believe is $10 in Ulta but I got it on sale.

Now what I'm looking forward to!!!
Yayyyyyyy giddy squeal!
OPI Swiss Collection...I love this, can wait to take a trip to Ulta to see these and maybe, just maybe get a new color.

And finally this amazing palette from Urban Decay called "Naked Palette" available in October.
If you have a chance go to youtube and see some wonderful tutorials with this palette.(I will suggest XSparkage or MakeUpGeek)
Happy window shopping!!!

Hi, My name is Patricia and I'm addicted to Vick's VapoRub

You guess it. I've been sick AGAIN.

This time with a lovely Sinus infection that has been harder to get rid of than a pimp looking for a whore in Atlantic City...yeah, that bad.
And not only that, but the little guy ended up with a virus too, so OH~THE FUN I HAD!

Friday Morning I woke up to what I though was pink eye (on top of everything else I had) but noooooooo, it turns out it was from the sinus infection. Seriously? I know it sounds awful but I didn't know mucus can take over your life.

Back in the motherland it is believed that you can clear illnesses and bad vibrations/luck by diving into the ocean backwards...I'm so ready to do that. And I will, in about a month... when I get to have my vacation time in the Caribbean. I'm going to be here:

Yeah, you hate me right now :)

So many plans for that vacation, including: our oldest graduating high school, the baptism of the little one, going out dancing, seeing friends and family...I can't hardly wait!

Oh and the food, the food...YUMMO.

So you don't hate me that much, I'll leave you with a story of when my addiction started. Mind you, to my "people" Vick's is equal to the Windex joke on "My Big Fat Greek Wedding". we use it for everything: fever, headaches, congestion, cough, insect bites, etc. So everyone I know has a jar or two of this marvelous medicinal goop.

By the time I was ten I had a ritual: First get a cup of ice, so I can crushed it while in bed and two: get myself a VICK'S mask...seriously I plastered the thing ALL OVER my face and inside my nostrils. It was so bad that my Sister's husband (then boyfriend) will be sitting with her, watching TV, I will pass by in the hallway behind them and he would yell without even bthering to look away from the TV: "yeah, there goes Patricia"...you could smell me a mile away. My Mom-ster finally took matters into her own hands and had to hide my precious Vick's from me. *Sniff*

Now, there's always a jar next to my night stand...and one on my desk at work. I LOVE THIS STUFF. So if you ever have a cough, not only put this on you chest and back, put it on your feet and cover it with socks. It will work wonders. (also applying it to your temples when you have a headache...amazing!)

P.S

In other news, we are back on the health wagon (hubby on board this time) Soda is out for now and I'll be packing more of my lunch and having more salads. Wooo Hooo... Remember: "Trying is having the intention to fail" So we are no longer trying, we are GOING TO LOOSE WEIGHT! And I'm bying a Zumba DVD!

The End * Sniff*

We all know that my Moral Compass is a little…how should I say this…twisted?
Don’t get me wrong I’m a good person, just a little evil inside. (hollllaaaaaaa to my peeps) So there is no surprise that some really disturbing things fascinate me. Some are truly epic; like the one that just ended.

WHY DO THEY DO THIS TO ME?
They get you addicted, show you there is something else out there, and give you just a little more, they reel you in…they keep you in suspense… and then WHAM they take it all away at once.
WHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYY????

If you don’t understand what I’m talking about, you obviously have not seen the beautiful complex drama called “Jersey Shore”

How am I going to get my fix now?
How am I going to cheer on when they have fights?
How can I get my doses of 20 jars of Gel?
Tell me how am I supposed to live without youuuuuuuuu… record scratching

I mean is not like every day you see a guy doing his GTL (Gym Tanning Laundry)

I am so crushing for Mike “the Situation” LOL He can cook, he can bench press, he can speak two languages (English and Guido),
and best of all he can take his shirt off 20 times without me even asking. Ahhhhhhh. so much inspiration. I mean seriously this is what I wanna be when I grow up. Just a bunch of crazy drinking fist pumping lunatics fighting over pickles and skanks.

And now it’s over, now I have to content myself with reruns of this magical hour until the DVD comes out. The hub thinks they should send them to Italy next summer just to see what antics they can pull off. I’m totally voting to make “the Situation” the national Spokesperson of the guidos. I think I'm in love. (he is the one neeling in the front)
I also think that Jwoww breast should have their own show. Then again she can created a video on how to beat up people...she is my hero. Who can get in to fights in stilettos? She can!!!!
Oh so many memories...the hater juice, the hot tub, Snooky falling all over the place, the drama between Sammie and Ronnie, Pauly D stalker...oh my. Thats it...I'm changing my name to P-Pumping!

Ahhhh, let me go work on my hair poof. Oh~and I've decided I'm totally going to be "Snooky" for Halloween...buahahaha
