Meme Time!!!

I am joining My chihuahua bites on this one, it sounded like fun so mind as well join in while the little guy watches Olivia.

MeMe time!

MeMes are great for days when you lack blogging inspiration, like today. Won't you play along?

I give you money and send you into the grocery store to pick up 5 items. You can only pick one thing from the following departments. What do you pick?

Produce: Bananas if is for me, Grapes if is for the little guy
Bakery: Italian Bread
Meat: Steak
Frozen Foods: Ice cream or Brussels sprouts
Dairy: 2% Milk

Let's say we're heading out for a weekend getaway. You're only allowed to bring 3 articles of clothing with you. So, what's in your bag?

UGH, I first though 3 dresses...but maybe one dress, Jeans and a nice shirt (I'm counting the day of arrival with the clothes I've arrived)

If I was to listen in on your conversations throughout
the day, what 5 phrases or words would I be most likely to hear?
  • Alo, en que andas? (Speaking Spanish to my Sis)
  • Hey Babe, when are you coming? (to the Hubs)
  • Aiden get down.
  • show me (Aiden likes to show me things he is doing/making/building thru out the day)
  • I'm soooo tired
What three things do you find yourself doing every single day? What things would put you in a bad mood if you didn’t get to do them?

I drink Coffee every day, if I don't I'm a bitch. I also try to do laundry on most days and clean parts of the house. I don't do house chores on weekends.

If you had a three hour block where no one was around, what 5 things might we find you doing?

  1. Get a manicure
  2. Get a Pedicure
  3. Do my hair.
  4. watch tons on Discovery ID
  5. watch porn (hahahaha, just checking if your paying attention)
You are headed to the zoo, but it looks like it might start raining. What three exhibits do you rush to see first?
Elephants, tigers, then the reptiles- I hate them but I feel safer looking behind the glass.

What four (live) television shows do you wish would gift
you free tickets?
  1. The Talk, they seem like a funny bunch
  2. Ellen Degeneres for her Christmas gifts
  3. The Wendy Williams show, she is funny and out there
  4. there is nothing else I would even attempt to go
If someone offered to buy you a triple dipper ice cream cone, what three flavors would you choose?
Cheesecake, Cookies & Cream, Chocolate

Imagine you lost your purse at a retail store. When you go to pick it up, the cashier asks you to name five things that are inside it to prove it is yours. What do you say?
  1. Satchel for Pull ups
  2. Sonia Kashuk makeup bag
  3. Heavenly roll on perfume
  4. Carolina Herrera glasses
  5. 4 lipbalms
Imagine you are at a job fair. You’re asked what careers you would like to pursue. Assuming you had the talents for said careers, how would you respond? (List four.)
  1. Translator
  2. makeup artist
  3. Interior Designer
  4. Baker

If you could speak with your 16 year old self, what four things would you say?

I’d thought maybe to be careful out there, would be nice not to be pregnant at 16 and become the joke of the school/town/family, but then I wouldn't have Alain. I would say go with your gut more than your heart, do what YOU want to do and not what others want for you, that 85% of the time Mom will be right, and to enjoy life and not to worry so much, everything will work itself out.

Because I said so

Some of my favorite bloggers are those who disclose their life when they are running hammock and when life is not picture perfect. I tend to stay away from blogs about look-at-my-perfect-life-with-my-perfect-kids-in my perfect white couch. I hate those. That is not realistic. And if you are one of those I have to say that sorry, I don't believe you.

Life is chaotic, and messy, and fun, and stressful. There are blissful days and days that I just want the day to over so I can rest. It has just been one of those days. I love my kids, I love being a SAHM, I seriously do, but there are days when you just want to scream.

Today there where some issues that where happening in the morning, that combined to my conversation last night with my ill brother, who is all alone, battling Stage IV Colon cancer, eating a McD's Dollar menu items while sitting in his car, in front of the river, by himself...it was just sad. So today was already a not so fun day, but I had my positive attitude on, I carried on, I dropped/picked up people, I did some laundry, organize the house a bit, manage to get the kid to nap. But let me tell you, my baby, my little angel, this little precious child

has been driving me bonkers lately.

He is a good boy and most of the time I have no complains but lately he has this really annoying habit of crying like someone is murdering him if you don't do what he wants right away. No, he is not throwing a tantrum, is more like this:

I'm making dinner, chopping things away and he is in the living room, with his cartoons on the TV, Dinosaur King on the computer, and his favorite snacks on hand (grapes and strawberries). Well, Dinosaur king ended and he wanted me to select a new one from youtube. I told him to please wait and he started crying, like a sad cry and running to get his brother. Now when he gets like this I've tried talking to him, sitting him down, etc. but then he cries even louder.

He cries like this : waaaaaaaaaaa, I'M SORRY MOMMY, I'M SOOOOORRRY....
to the outside it may sound like someone is torturing this child with nail clippers and he is begging me for me to stop. EXTREMELY ANNOYING.

there is nothing I do that makes him stop, so today I lost it, I screamed at him so loud I was embarrased afterwards for loosing my temper like that. I said "ENOUGH AIDEN,I HAD ENOUGH! STOP CRYING OR I'LL PUT YOU ON TIME OUT, SHUT IT.RIGHT.NOOOOOOW!

He got so scared, but let me tell you he calmed down. I was not proud of myself but sometimes I think your children challenge you to see how far they can go. After that he play in peace and even came to the kitchen to ask me what I was doing.

This is NOT how I want to discipline my almost three year old, this is not the kind of thing I want to do or the kind of Mother I want my kids to remember. I felt so bad afterwards...
then I remember that I am his Mom, that I am the one in charge, that sometimes a good scream is what they need to know you mean business.

I am a Mother, not his friend. I want to inspire love, but also respect. So I took a breather and calm down and realize that good mothers are human too.

Friend Makin' Mondays: Current Favorites

One of the reasons I love FMM is because come Monday my brain is fry and I don't have time to put my thoughts on order and articulate something blog worthy. It was an awesome weekend, my Brother (full on, grown together, living in another country Bro- not the one who is sick) came to visit us for the weekend- and yes, we crazies take international flights for 3 days.

So never mind that I was sick and in bed for 4 days last week, and now the Hubs is sick, and we had a full on weekend and an episode of night terrors, I just rather answer these instead:

If you’ve taken part in FMM then you know the rules. If you’re new, please take a moment to answer this week’s question on your own blog then add your link in the comments section here at: www.alltheweigh.com so we can all see your FMM questions and answers. Please invite your blog readers to add their links here too so everyone has to opportunity to be seen. The idea is to connect with other awesome bloggers so take a moment to post your own FMM post and comment on a couple of other posts. Now it’s time for this week’s topic!

Friend Makin' Mondays: Online dating

Hello peeps. I have been away trying to clean up this place, reconnecting with friends and mostly vegging out. I feel so tired from always being on the go with the Mom-ster and although I miss her, my achy feet do not.

This weeks FMM is about online dating, I'm married now but at one point I also dabbed on meeting people online. I hope you join in so I can hear some funny stories!

FMM: Online Dating

  1. Have you ever tried online dating? Yes, yes I have *sigh*
  2. If you’ve done it, what did you like about it? What did you dislike? I like the idea of meeting new people I would not have met otherwise. I'm not a bar hoping kind of gal so it was hard to find places to meet people (plus I was alone living in a new country). I hate not really knowing who I'm connecting with.
  3. If you haven’t done it, would you? If you have done it, would you do it again? Why or why not? No, I don't think I would give it a shot again. I was willing to meet people and when I saw a few of them they look different. But even then I didn't back down and gave them a chance. One ASS wipe was so rude to me (even thought he was the one deceiving me) and that pissed me off. I should have just bolted the minute I saw him.
  4. What precautions would you take before going out with someone that you met online? Talk on the phone and these days maybe do a back ground check.
  5. Do you have a favorite dating site? If so, what is it? Not really.
  6. What questions would you ask before agreeing to a date? I used to ask about their goals, what they did, what kind of things they like to do, books they read, etc.
  7. How long would you correspond with someone online before meeting them? I don't remember how long it was but probably a couple of weeks.
  8. In your opinion, what are the pros to meeting someone online? the chance to met someone who otherwise would not have a chance to meet, get to know them a little without having to be face to face trying to sound cool.
  9. In your opinion, what are the cons of online dating? you not always get what you want. Also there is no comparison to that connection you get when you first met someone, see their eyes and like them. I also learn that 5'9" is actually really, really short :)
  10. Share a funny or embarrassing online dating experience with us if you have one. There was one guy who seemed very nice online and I agree to met him in Manhattan, NY since I was living in NJ. When I show up to the place he was really short and sort of nerdy looking but I say, heck you can hurt someone by just turning around a leaving him there (it was a very public place so he did not see me). We went out to dinner, he was really nice and we had great conversation. Afterwards we decided to walk and right when we where passing St. Patrick's Cathedral he turned and asked me if I liked to be spanked....I decided right there and then to head for the train. (not that I'm opposed to it but that was so odd for a first day it freaked me out).

Now it’s your turn! Don’t forget to post your answers then come back and link up in the comments!

what's your damage heather?

I've been absent for a while.
We have no cell phones and our home phone is VOIP which is connected to the computer. We had a few days with issues with the net and the cable which means incommunicado to the world for a few days.

For most this would be tragedy, for me it was a chance to reconnect with life, no worries about FB, youtube, blogs, or the phone ringing. I could actually put some music on and not stop it every time the phone rang.

It was time for us to connect as a family, to really sit down and play cars with the little guy, and to actually be in the moment.

This just proved that we can survive without being connected 24/7 to the world.

I'll be back again when I finish some spring cleaning (the weather is 80 degrees today!!!)

So there you are Monday...and a FMM

Here we are again.
I'm so glad I have the ability to join Friend Makin' Mondays since I am in pain from traveling from Maryland to NYC, back to Maryland and under 10 hours, my heiney- no matter how cushiony- cannot bear the thought of a car seat right now. (thanks Hubs for driving most of the way).

If you’ve taken part in FMM then you know the rules. If you’re new, please take a moment to answer this week’s question on your own blog then add your link in the comments section here at: www.alltheweigh.com so we can all see your FMM questions and answers. FMM: What’s On Your Workout Playlist?

I'm going to be super boring right now and tell you again that the soundtrack from Rocky IV is a MUST for me. How can you not want to work out after hearing it? I just want to go out there, pretending to know what I'm doing, screaming: "NO PAIN, NO PAIN, NO PAIN". Training Montage and No easy way out are favorites.

Also been loving these tunes:

  • Party Rock Anthem by LMFAO
  • Lollipop (Candyman) by Aqua- yes, there is still one Aqua fan alive.
  • The Golden Age by The Asteroids Galaxy tour
  • the Cup of life by Ricky Martin
  • Gasolina by Daddy Yankee (bwahahahaha, is a Spanish thing)
  • Pump it by Black eyed peas
  • Rockstar by Prima J
  • Run the show by Kat de Luna
So there you have it, now I'm off to see what everyone else said so I can add some new tunes!

You lost me at carrots, which was the first draft of 'you had me at hello'.

So I've been busy, what else is new, but can I tell you how incredible sore I am from shopping?
"Like, O.M.G Barbara Jean, did you know Nordstrom was having a sale y'all?!" -said in my most faked 15 yr old Britney voice.

I have gone out with the Mom-ster EVERY.SINGLE.DAY.

We've gone to 3 Marshalls, malls gallore, Kohls, WM, Michaels, countless Payless, Macys, SEARS, JCP, Lord and Taylor, Old Navy, etc...seriously I think the only store we didn't go was the Sex toy store, and believe me, if she thought she was getting a deal, she would have been there!

My feet are throbbing, my back is aching, and I swear I've lost a few pounds. The Mom-ster i
s a complicated woman, being 75 and all. The shirts she likes are too tight, too low cut, she does' like showing her arms but don't like long sleeves...I'm telling you the blouses she likes do not exist.

The good thing is that we did score major deals: dresses @ $1.98, a pair of boots for $5, Dressy Italian shoes for $3...seriously major scores. The thing is the weather is nice around here right now and people don't know if they should dress for spring or winter...so I guess they opted for summer since all the bating suits are out. Oh, and I also got an email from Crabtree & evelyn from liking their FB page back in Nov. gave me a free hand cream, and then for signing up in their store got an extra one!!! (I choose lemon) I love free stuff.

My house is a mess, there is a mattress on the living room and there is no rhyme of reason how to organize everything (my oldest gave his room and has made the living room a new version of occupy DC). and then I found this one morning...the little one crawl in to cuddle with his big brother....awwwwww...btw one pillow is hello and the other white, just saying.

So the word to the wise is too have some major walking shoes and maybe sweatpants to tackle these trips, anything is better than this:

Please remind me that the above look it's not appropriate gear for shopping with the Mom-ster.
(stripe shirt-old navy, sweater-Gap, Jeans- Levi's, boots- Bass for $9.99 a century ago)
BTW-my eyes are Hazel, not weird zombie like.

So that's what I'm up to. what about you?
