You lost me at carrots, which was the first draft of 'you had me at hello'.

So I've been busy, what else is new, but can I tell you how incredible sore I am from shopping?
"Like, O.M.G Barbara Jean, did you know Nordstrom was having a sale y'all?!" -said in my most faked 15 yr old Britney voice.

I have gone out with the Mom-ster EVERY.SINGLE.DAY.

We've gone to 3 Marshalls, malls gallore, Kohls, WM, Michaels, countless Payless, Macys, SEARS, JCP, Lord and Taylor, Old Navy, etc...seriously I think the only store we didn't go was the Sex toy store, and believe me, if she thought she was getting a deal, she would have been there!

My feet are throbbing, my back is aching, and I swear I've lost a few pounds. The Mom-ster i
s a complicated woman, being 75 and all. The shirts she likes are too tight, too low cut, she does' like showing her arms but don't like long sleeves...I'm telling you the blouses she likes do not exist.

The good thing is that we did score major deals: dresses @ $1.98, a pair of boots for $5, Dressy Italian shoes for $3...seriously major scores. The thing is the weather is nice around here right now and people don't know if they should dress for spring or winter...so I guess they opted for summer since all the bating suits are out. Oh, and I also got an email from Crabtree & evelyn from liking their FB page back in Nov. gave me a free hand cream, and then for signing up in their store got an extra one!!! (I choose lemon) I love free stuff.

My house is a mess, there is a mattress on the living room and there is no rhyme of reason how to organize everything (my oldest gave his room and has made the living room a new version of occupy DC). and then I found this one morning...the little one crawl in to cuddle with his big brother....awwwwww...btw one pillow is hello and the other white, just saying.

So the word to the wise is too have some major walking shoes and maybe sweatpants to tackle these trips, anything is better than this:

Please remind me that the above look it's not appropriate gear for shopping with the Mom-ster.
(stripe shirt-old navy, sweater-Gap, Jeans- Levi's, boots- Bass for $9.99 a century ago)
BTW-my eyes are Hazel, not weird zombie like.

So that's what I'm up to. what about you?

Birthday wish list (I know, I know)

My birthday is a few months away, but since I've been married the hubs and I have a deal that we usually tell each other what we want, need or is on our wish list. While you may think that it would not be creative or spontaneous, it is, because I don't always know what he is going to get me or I him. He also has a wish list with amazon, one that you could add items even from other sites, and we love it because we can always go back there and refer to the list.

That's how I got my lovely Hunter boots :)

In case you didn't know, I'm obsessed with boots and would love nothing more than to have a closet full of them, so of course this year there are a few boots on my list. Here is my first choice: Frye boots. If you don't know about them you need to. I love them, and I have seen them paired with jeans, skits, shorts, etc. My only issue is price, so we'll see. We don't use credit cards so we only buy what we can pay right then. These are the Jane stitch style.

Then I though maybe I go for something less expensive and get a Bearpaw

and when I saw they come in this awesome green I was ALMOST convinced...

Decisions, decisions...and just for fun here are some of my other items in the list, these are all from Old Navy and would be awesome to get for when we go back to the motherland in January (remember, is an island):

OK, the one above MUST be mine so I will be ordering it soon. Chevron+ navy and white= LOVE

I think I have been inspired more and more to get more dressier instead of just lounging around in sweats after finding this amazing blog from Momma go round. Can she be prettier and stylish? I think not. Here are just two of her lovely looks:

You need to go see her, seriously. Can I say how much I love that we where same sizes and weight the same? She inspires me to try new things.

So whats inspiring you this week?

Goal: Girly up!

One of my goals for this year is to get more dresses and girlify {it's a word, look it up, shussss} even more. I wear the make up, the hair, the nails, etc. but I don't have many dresses. I felt that being overweight I couldn't but I have seen so many beautiful full figure women wearing them and I want to jump on that wagon too. I've always love the 40's - 50's look but it was never en vogue, so now that it is I think I may add a few of those!

I know Anthropologie is so full of beautiful vintagey dresses but I cannot justify paying the price for them. I found that if you try enough you can find the look for less. I am on the hunt at Marshalls, etc, but haven't found what I want yet. Like this little ensemble from Shabby Apple- this is the Ingrid dress and they said it would flatter my figure (you can take a small survey there for suggestions). This one os $94 and has 20% discount now. LOVE!

The next one is just too wonderful and perfect for my nephews Baptism/ first Birthday that is in the future. I see red pumps with it :) This is from Modcloth but currently out of stock (I believe it was $99.00) so I asked them to notify me when it comes back in stock. They have tons of vintage inspire dresses...why did we ever stop dressing like this?

And because I am from an Island and will be going in a few months I though it was time for a new swimsuit! This one is from (WAIT FOR IT) Walmart PEOPLE! and only $32.00, incredible I know since I have seen this style for triple that.

And since we are talking vintage inspire, I'm loving this wallet also from Modcloth for $37.99- a little pricey for me but oh-so-cute.

Even though this is not the definition of comegetthem and sexiness girly that a successful marriage needs from time to time, they look so confy. I want them. Currently on Amazon, the brand is Frankie & Johnny .

And my favorite Latte Bowls from Anthropologie are on sale right now. 4 for $9.97 but only in dark blue, yellow and melon. I ordered the melon to add to our collection but 2 came broken. They where very prompt to send me not 2 but another set of 4. Love them!

Ahhh, the wish list. I'm dreaming of pretty aprons, flowie dresses, and a date night in my future. Now off to see some Spanish miniseries that has me hooked.

How does a Mommy look like?

I have said so many times that it amazes me how rude people are, openly criticizing and being mean to one another just because you are behind a PC but to now judge how we look kinds of reminds me of High school.

The cool kids looking at you, comparing brands and who is cooler than who, only now we have grown people telling us "you are a Mom now, you can't wear that". Now if you are getting all gussied up with a leather tube top and Britney-look-a-like- low-rider-jeans, YES, that may not be the outfit for the next PTA but seriously, when was it said we all have to go and get MOM jeans and haircuts?

Seriously, have we gotten completely bonkers?
I have kids and there is NO WAY IN HELL you will catch me with this look. None of my sister's do either. Most of my friends have kids but they haven't forgotten they are also women (married by the way, let us not forget there is so much rollers and cold cream the hubs can take). So why can I be a mommy and dress like this?

yes, about 6 sizes up but still. I want to look cute and presentable. Even today going to run some errands alone I put on my Boot cut jeans, brown boots- much like the one's above, a gray sweater and a nice herringbone coat. I saw a guy checking me out and is not what I want to atract, but I want my Hubs to remember he got married to a hot tamale.

And yes, I am even going to defend Kate Gosselin because the poor soul deserved to do her nails and get her hair done. The look of just sweat pans when the show first started is understandable, after all she has 8 kids, but she also has to have time for herself. Is she a little nuts? yes, but I don't want to walk a mile in her shoes so I give her props for not going completely nuts. And yes, I even like the other hair style that everyone made fun off.

I even remember how many mean comments our dear NieNie got when she decided to get her nails and hair done. Seriously? we can't do that when we become mothers?
Look here:
This beautiful, gorgeous girl below is the proud mommy of 4 kids.

Some people posted on FB and her blog she should dress like a Mom now. Uhm, what exactly does that looks like? I think the shot above was for portfolio since she is a makeup artist and very talented, and she posted other looks as well. You should look her up since she is AMAZING.
Kandee Johnson.

Do you remember when Celine Dion took pictures with her first born? I do

I remember thinking: THIS IS CELINE DION for Pete's sake! I thought she look fabulous, and yes I get that some people said it was not realistic with all her luxury but this is HER reality; and frankly I would be disappointed if she looked like me. It just seemed to me like nice family pictures, rich family but family none the less.

Have I gotten out in my sweat pans for a quick run? yes
Have I gone out to drop the hubs in my PJ's {with a coat on top}? yeap, that was me.
Did I spent the first few weeks after having the little one with a stylish collection of sweats and comfortable outfits? yes indeed

But I also like make up, I like doing my nails, I like a new pair of sexy heels. And I do not believe that has anything to do with the fact I'm a mommy or my abilities to take care of my husband and kids. I have so many wonderful women around me, they look amazing, sexy, strong and confident and they are all mommy's. All we have to do is look around us, even on blog land, and see that just because you are a mommy you have to let yourself go.

So here's to all my confident, beautiful, modern mommies out there. Because you all deserve to look your best.

Riding away...or maybe I just need medication

I’ve been having the same daydream for months:

All of the sudden I’m running thru a vast green field, smiling, chasing after a horse (mine apparently) A beautiful black stallion.
I’m dressed in riding gear (you know, the boots, the pants and a light sweater). My hair is flowing in the air as I run.

I can see myself so happy, so free. The funny thing is that I can even hear music playing in the background…”Clocks” by Coldplay.
Can you picture this? Me dress to ride a black stallion while running to the fields…while the music is playing… buahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaaaaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaa
(I'm saving my pennies to buy these: Hunters Boots)

It’s hysterical, but it’s my dream and I love it.
BTW I’m currently looking for a book to tell me the meaning of dreams…never mind…let me go find a nice psychiatrist before the people in white find me.

P.S
in other news...Uhm, I'm sorry to tell you this but having your phone say "please enjoy the music while your party is being reach" is NOT enjoyable, plus chances are we don't like the same music.
