Where the Streets have no name

Apparently this is the only way I get to write here. I am so over tired by the time I get home from walking all day the streets of New York, then is home life and cooking, making a tower with Legos, racing cars while multiple episodes of "the Land before time" are in the back ground.

I do cherish these moments too much and therefore have none to spare right now. I only wish I can get a camera faster because the beauty of this city is worth keeping a record of. Even the ghetto parts.

The one magnificent thing is I am in dire need of pants, all this walking has made me loose some hefty pounds (no idea how many since I have no care of weighing myself) but I look utterly ridiculous pinning my pants and pulling them up all the time.

Let me give you at least this:

If you’ve taken part in FMM then you know the rules. If you’re new, please take a moment to answer this week’s question on your own blog then add your link in the comments section here at: www.alltheweigh.com so we can all see your FMM questions and answers. Please invite your blog readers to add their links here too so everyone has to opportunity to be seen. The idea is to connect with other awesome bloggers so take a moment to post your own FMM post and comment on a couple of other posts. Now it’s time for this week’s topic!

1. Choose three songs that would be on the soundtrack of your life. So unfair to pick only three...”Fix you” by Cold Play, “Moon over Bourbon Street” by Sting. "Cruz de Navajas" by Mecano (I do know that Ironic by Alanis Morissette has to be my intro...for sure)
2. Share the details of one project that you’re currently working on. NONE. I am being lazy and enjoying it. I have a million ideas for this place...eventually.
3. If you could learn to do one thing overnight what would it be? Two things: Learn sign language and horse back riding like a pro.
4. If you could be a fictional character which one would you be?  a toss between Lorelai Gilmore from "Gilmore girls" and Miss Marple from the Agatha Christie's books.
5. What’s your favorite thing about the month of October? Everything. The fall scents, the hot drinks, the rainy days, but mostly HALLOWEEN :)
6. Share one TV show that you’re embarrassed to admit you watch.  I am not embarrassed, but other people are of these: Jersey Shore (yeaaaaah buddy) and My big fat gypsy wedding.
7. Name one friend that you’re thankful to have in your life today.  Kelly. She has been my friend since I was 7 and she has kept out relationship alive, she is always there for me and always has time to listen to my none sense.
8. What was the most relaxing part of your weekend? not working. not walking. and catching up to some of my shows.
9. Do you like to dance?  Yes, I do.Salsa, merengue, Bachata, Pop, rock, bring anything on! .
10.  Share one thing that you’re looking forward to before the end of the year.  getting settle and used to being in NYC, making memories of family gatherings now that we are closer, getting this place together and feeling like home.
Now go to visit Kenley and join this so I can go snoop on your answers. Go. shoo. shoo.

On the streets of NYC

I am not even going to say sorry. I just had no time to write anything these days. The good things is that I have become a sort of expert on taking all kinds of public transportation in this HUGE city. I actually KNOW where I am going, all by my self (ok google helps me a tad before I go out) and have not gotten lost  :)
I am so happy.

The great news is that I am working again, even thought I miss being home with the kiddo, it is very flexible, I am actually a secret shopper and have to go to several stores during the day (the actual Co. pays me- not an agency) and I can make my schedule too. Yay. Yay for paychecks. Yay for getting store discounts. yay for getting paid to shop (no, I don't keep what I purchase).

The SAD  part is not having a camera right now for me to go around. I've been to Harlem, pass the Apollo Theater, sat today at Bryant Park @ 5th Avenue, walked around the fashion district.

This is where I was doing my work today, sitting here filling out forms. hard work, huh? Let me shut up now 'cause winter is coming and walking around in the cold is not my forte. ..ahhhh so many beautiful views and no camera to show you.

But don't despair, my good fellows at Nikon have an awesome new little camera that I think will do for what I want/need now.The Coolpix S01 3x.

It is tini tiny.

I love that I can put it in my pocket and not worry about it. Do I still want the 1J? yeap, but is not realistic right now, so I am going to be a good little girl and save up for this one instead.

Now if only I can find a classy, comfortable, cross body handbag that does not make me look like I'm still in college, THAT would be golden.

Over & out.

FMM: Fall Favorites and being a Newyorker

I have to say New York in the fall cannot be beaten. I am loving the smells, the crisp morning air, walking on Sunday Morning to the market, the salted caramel hot beverages, the window being open all night and smelling the rain in the middle of the night. Our place is coming along but taking waaaaay more time than I thought. Having very limited closet space makes it hard to decide what to keep. Thankfully I just purchased the e-book "The no brainer Wardrobe" and this has made me realize that I need to work on my new wardrobe now and not keep anything that does not make me feel fabulous. I highly recommend you give it a try.

So this week I'm joining again...

If you’ve taken part in FMM then you know the rules. Fall Favorites

1. What is your favorite thing about this time of year? BOOTS!, scarfs, crisp air, and hot cocoa

2. What do you hope to do again before Summer is officially over? gosh, does cleaning counts? finish this place, I have way too much crap apparently.

3. When did you last go on a hay ride?  two years ago with the little man, last year we couldn't go but I am hoping to go apple picking and get in one this season

4. What is your favorite pumpkin dish? Nothing. Pumpkin is so not my thing.

5. Do you decorate your home for fall?  some, but I usually jump right into Halloween instead. I LOVE Halloween.

6. Do you have any hobbies that are seasonally specific? If so, what are they?  uhm...not really. but I like scrapbooking and for some reason I do it more during the colder months. Also more baking is happening here.

7. Apple cider or hot chocolate?  Hot chocolate (my Mom makes the best home-made-from-scratch). Apple Cider is not popular in the homeland so I have never gotten in to it.

8. Are you a fan of football?  If so, who is your team? Nope, but the Hubs is so there is a game always on.

9. Share a fond Fall memory.  Apple picking with the Hubs for the first time, going to the Renaissance fair and haunted houses. And a very special Halloween weekend in the Poconos with family.

10. It’s not Fall until…my Birthday! I love having a September Birthday.

Now it’s your turn to answer this week’s questions.  Don’t forget to come back and link up in the comments!  Happy Monday and Over & out!

Oh, the insanity of New York living as a group of 10 people!!!!
Today I actually told my Mom-ster I was about to pack my bags and go there for a while. THAT IS PURE INSANITY. I tell you one thing, if I don't get to move within the next 10 days I will be in the news for killing someone.

I wish I was kidding.

Moving on. Lets go to FMM since is the only thing I can muster to blog about right now.

Being Homeless

I have not posted much about this because, frankly, it sounds like  a Debbie Downer. I don't think people want to know about these things, people want to believe this does not happen or want to ignore it. I say this because I see the reaction around us. I see how people can ask about anything else and try to avoide stating the fact that, in reality, one is homeless.

I am going to state that Im posting this for my own sanity. For my own relief since I feel I cannot talk to anyone about this. Yes, I have friends and family, but when people try to tell  me "I know how it must feel" or "I know what you are going thru" I want to scream at them : NO, YOU DON'T.

It is not that I am trying to be pathetic and not appreciate it but unless you have no home, your clothes are in suitcases, you are sleeping on air mattress in someone's floor, you do not know what it feels like.

Even thought we are not technically on the streets, and we are very thankful for having a roof over our heads, the living situation with others is not ideal. Not for them, not for us. I fell so hopeless and sad, I keep having dizzy spells, nausea, headaches that turn into migraines and I know is because all the worry and stress.

The thing that hurts the most is who others treat you. You become this 3rd class citizen, you have no rights, God forgive if you desire anything from a treat to wanting to look at an IKEA catalog. People make comments like you shouldn't want these things.

It also hurts how people go : Oh yeah, I know how hard it is, we had so much stress we went on vacation to get away, or we went shopping, or drinking, etc. No, I'm not saying you should not do these things, but how could you compare that to knowing all your possessions are on storage, some where stolen, some where trashed. You have no home for your kids. You are homeless. How would you feel if people seeing all your stuff being put on the street and they tell you "hurry up and make up your mind because I have to take my kid to Ballet". Well, OK...sorry my getting homeless got in the way of your day.

Yes, this is OUR PROBLEM. NO, you don't have to fix it. But compassion would have been nice. Regardless of what you think of me, of us.

There have been several occasions in which in these Three Months I have been so disappointed in people's humanity. I know I expect kindness  when I know it wont come.

I have lost some people along the way. They may not know it but our relationship has been damage forever, and even thought I have forgiveness in my heart, at this time I cannot foresee having certain people in my life anymore. The hurt was too much. You showed your true colors and for that I am  thankful, because I can rebuild my life knowing who has been there no matter what, in good, in the bad, in the ugly and the TERRIBLE.

I guess I should be happy that I know the facts. But I am not. I am  mostly sad.

But I have faith that soon, rather than latter this episode will come to an end and we would be able to start over, fresh, with new hopes and dreams, and with the knowledge that even thought most people SUCK ASS, there are some that are worth their weight in gold.

And this was not a pitty Party, don't you worry about me. I am learning to survive and to live life, no matter what. To always look up and smile. Because even though the world may be falling apart around me, I will always be kind,  I will always have faith, and I will ALWAYS SMILE!

Here is some stuff we did this weekend- along with dinners with family.

meeting his idol, and he was not afraid at all!

he could not stop looking at it, even thought there was a giant Autobot Robot in front of him (This was at Toys R us @ Times Square)

It was sooooo crowded though

and us. Very, very tired :)
The good thing is that we know have NYC as our backyard and playground!
